What’s This Podcast
About?

Ahmed Neinaa Born in 1952 in Egypt, Ahmed Neinaa is a distinguished Qur’an reciter and pediatric physician who has profoundly influenced the world of Tajweed and Qur’anic recitation. He completed both his master’s and Ph.D. in pediatric medicine, balancing his professional medical career with an early and deep devotion to the Qur’an. By the age of 8, Sheikh Ahmed Neinaa had completed the memorization (Hifdh) of the Holy Qur’an. He later pursued the art of Tajweed under the guidance of Sheikh Ahmad Al Shawa, refining his vocal precision and command of recitation. His style was deeply inspired by the legendary Sheikh Mustafa Ismail, whose melodious delivery left a lasting impression on the young reciter. This influence would shape Neinaa’s lifelong dedication to the more melodic and emotionally resonant *Mujawwad* style. To further enrich his recitational depth, he studied the Ten Qira’at (readings) under Sheikh Mohammad Farid Al Noamani and Sheikha Um Saad, both of whom played a key role in his mastery of advanced Qur’anic recitation techniques. A major turning point in his career came in 1967 when his talent captured the attention of then-president Anwar Sadat, who appointed him to the presidential medical team and honored him with the title of “Presidency Qur’an Reader.” Neinaa continued in this role through the era of President Hosni Mubarak, establishing his voice as one of the most iconic in Egypt’s national and religious landscape. Ahmed Neinaa is especially celebrated for his moving *Mujawwad* recitations, which continue to captivate listeners with their spiritual intensity and rich emotional expression.
