In a captivating parallel world where psychic powers have transformed witchcraft into a respected science, the physical sciences have taken a backseat, creating a culture reminiscent of our eighteenth century. Follow the intertwined fates of Lalette Asterhax, a hereditary witch, and Rodvard Bergelin, an ordinary government clerk drawn into the radical conspiracy of the Sons of the New Day.
