Faysal Wizar was a Quran reciter from Marrakech, Morocco, born on July 27, 1982. He passed away on November 14, 2007, due to a gas leak. He primarily recited in the Hafs ‘an Asim narration. Digital Qur’anic archives feature recordings of his recitations. Listeners often describe his voice as sweet, refreshing, and crystal clear, with perfect pronunciation. He mastered the science of Tajweed and reinforced it with Arabic language rules. Faysal Wizar studied the basics of Quranic readings under Sheikh Sharif Mubarak and completed his memorization of the Quran under Sheikh Sidi Al Haj Boujamaa. He further learned Tajweed at Dar Al Quran from prominent scholars. He also held a license degree in Arabic language. Beyond recitation, he was known for his skills in Arabic calligraphy and wood engraving. He served as an Imam during Taraweeh prayers in several mosques in Marrakech and also worked as a teacher for a period.
