If so, we invite you to participate in the Life is Better With You Here podcast series with Dr. Chivonna Childs as she takes a deeper look into mental health and wellness in the African American community. The Life Is Better With You Here podcast series will cover why living a well-balanced lifestyle will encourage overall mental wellness in the African American community. We will address the stigma around Depression, PTSD, Suicide, and many other challenging topics. We will also provide you with ways to cope with distressing situations and how to love yourself better. The podcast’s purpose is to help build and instill better mental health practices with information and resources- and talk about why life is indeed better with YOU here. Our host is Dr. Chivonna Childs; she has over 25 years of experience in counseling. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Bowling Green State University. She received her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Cleveland State University. She has worked in multiple settings, including community mental health centers, nursing homes, private practices, and hospital systems. She has given various presentations on mental health and focuses on the treatment of Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, African American Women, and Postpartum depression and anxiety. She has been featured in the Healthy Actions Column on Depression in the Akron Beacon Journal. Currently, Dr. Childs works as a Staff Psychologist at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She provides psychotherapy/tele mental health to individuals, families, and couples to effectively manage mood and behavior.
