Proverbs 4:20-21 (NIV) My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart… Why would we need to be told to “pay attention”? Because we live in a world full of distractions. Paying attention is a choice, and we have to choose what we’re going to listen to. If we let ourselves continually be distracted, we will miss all kinds of things that the Lord is telling us. But if we will seek Him and pay attention to Him, we’ll see more, know more, and understand more. Things will get clearer and brighter, and He will show us what to do, what to say, and how to live.
