Ramadan Chakour Hussein (also spelled Ramadan Shakur Hussain or Ramadan Chakour Hussein Muhammad Abu Al Zubair) is a Quran reciter from Iraq, born in Kirkuk in August 1976. He is known for his heartwarming baritone voice. He primarily recites in the Hafs ‘an Asim narration. Digital Qur’anic archives feature numerous recordings of his recitations, including a complete recitation of the Holy Quran and various individual surahs. His recitation style is generally described as clear and impactful, contributing to a spiritually engaging experience for listeners. Sheikh Ramadan Chakour received his Quranic knowledge under the guidance of Sheikh Juma Ali, from whom he learned Al-Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), grammar, Tawheed (monotheism), and the fundamentals of Hadith. Simultaneously, he was educated by Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif Ahmad on topics covering the Prophet’s Hadith.
