This weekly podcast is designed to help you introduce and practice coping skills with the kids in your life. Every week, there will be a new mini podcast episode where I will walk you through a different coping skill. How to use this podcast: Listen to the audios a few times during the week and practice the skill along with me. When I take deep breaths, you and the kids in your life do it too! Once you’ve tried it a few times, you will probably have a better idea if this is a skill to add into your child’s coping skills toolkit. If so, great! If they don’t like it, move on. Try a new skill the next week. I will be sharing different styles of coping, just like in all the resources that are available at copingskillsforkids.com. I will cover: Deep Breathing: Fun, engaging ways to encourage deep breaths Relaxation: Breathing, mindfulness, and calming strategies Distraction: Fun and playful activities to give your mind a break Movement: Small and big body movements to help you regulate Sensory: Using your senses to soothe yourself Processing: Ways to identify feelings and work on a healthy mindset
