        1960年8月考入北京市曲艺团学习班，老艺人王长友、谭伯如任启蒙教师，后为相声名家马季先生之弟子，与王谦祥合作，一捧一逗四十余年，是中国相声界的黄金搭档，有“祥瑞相声”之称。 李增瑞捧哏冷面滑稽、稳重朴实、表演中配合默契、火候分寸、严谨适度、起到烘云托月的作用。
