Fuad Isaacs (also spelled Fuād Isaacs), was a prominent South African Quran reciter and long-serving imam of Masjidul Quds in Cape Town. He memorized the Quran and served the Muslim community faithfully, leading prayers including Eid and Taraweeh for over 25 years. Renowned for his soothing, emotive murattal recitations in the Hafs ‘an ‘Asim riwāyah, he recorded full surahs like Al-Mu’minūn, Nūḥ, Al-Muzzammil, Al-Muddaththir, Al-Ma‘ārij, Al-Jinn, Al-Insān, and Al-Hāqqah. His voice was especially loved during Hajj and Ramadan, touching listeners with its calm yet powerful delivery. He passed away on October 19, 2018, after battling bone marrow cancer. His legacy lives on through widely used digital audio recordings and repeated tributes from the Cape Muslim community.
