In our fast-paced world, its all too easy to look back and long for The Good Old Days. Yet, as Solomon wisely noted, There is nothing new under the Sun. Join us as we explore Timothy Titcombs insightful letters from 1863, which address societal issues that resonate even today. In Letters to the Joneses, a former schoolmaster pens thoughtful letters to the citizens of Jonesville, each crafted in response to a fictional character that represents a troubling type of person in their town. Within these letters, we may recognize not only our neighbors but also ourselves. This engaging read serves as a valuable guide for young people, offering lessons on the traits to avoid in order to foster a thriving community in their own Jonesville. (Summary by Keith Salis)
