The publication of the Pope's first Encyclical Letter, "Magnifica humanitas of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV on safeguarding the human person in the time of artificial intelligence", took place on May 25, 2026. Pope Leo XIV signed the document on May 15, marking the 135th anniversary of the promulgation of Rerum novarum by Pope Leo XIII.
