About?

Drawing on the Moon as a symbol of illumination, Mångata is a series of conversations artist Amos Gebhardt made with visionaries in their fields who dare to imagine future cosmologies in these dystopian times. Amos photographed participants across six lunar cycles, where they were lit entirely by moonlight. Working across themes of climate justice, abolition, storytelling, anti-oppression practice, and cultural theory, participants include Aileen Moreton-Robinson, Alexis Wright, Anjali Sharma, Aseel Tayah, Debbie Kilroy, Leah Manaema Avene and Nevo Zisin. https://amosgebhardt.com/mangata We acknowledge the people, lands, waters and skies of Wurundjeri, Quandamooka, Ngunnawal, Wadawurrung, Turrbal and Jagera Country where this project has been created.
