Join us as we delve into Platos The Republic, a timeless Socratic dialogue crafted around 380 BC that probes the essence of justice and the ideal framework of both a just city-state and individual. This monumental work is Platos most renowned contribution, featuring vibrant discussions led by Socrates with a mix of Athenians and foreigners. Together, they wrestle with the nature of justice and whether the just person experiences greater happiness than the unjust. The conversation unfolds imaginative visions of cities emerging from dialogue, ultimately leading to the concept of Kallipolis, a city ruled by philosopher-kings. The dialogue also tackles the theory of forms, the souls immortality, and the fundamental roles philosophers and poetry play in society. Embark on this intellectual journey that has profoundly influenced philosophy and political thought for centuries.
