What's This Podcast
About?

Join our discussions on why “it’s not what you say but what you convey” matters; as we explore how our brains are wired to read other’s gestures, voice tone, or even a lack of social signals to assess our own sense of safety and belonging. Anchored in Radically Open Dialectical Behaviour Therapy’s (RO DBT) evidence-based research, we aim to help unravel why some of us inhibit our social signalling and learn the science behind an overcontrolled biotemperament—whilst understanding costs of misaligned signalling, such as damaged relationships, perfectionism, loneliness, burnout, and resentment. Hosted by Dr. Nicole Little, accredited RO DBT trainer, supervisor and therapist, registered clinical counsellor and supervisor in British Columbia, and co-author of The Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy Workbook; alongside Erica Smith Lynch, co-director at Radically Open Ltd & RO DBT Online BV, and wife of treatment developer Dr Thomas Lynch. Produced by Roelie Hempel and Jodi Bhachu-Smith. If you’re interested in learning more about RO DBT, or other topics discussed in today’s podcast, visit www.radicallyopen.net, or see this episode’s description for dedicated references.
