What's This Podcast
About?

Look up at the night sky. Every star, every distant world, and the very iron in your blood are remnants of an ancient cosmic story written 4.5 billion years ago. Welcome to Solar System Odyssey—a narrative voyage through our local celestial neighborhood. The Story Our solar system did not begin in serene quiet; it emerged from violent chaos. 4.5 billion years ago, a massive interstellar cloud of gas and dust collapsed under its own gravity to form the solar nebula. The Protoplanetary Disk: As the cloud collapsed, conservation of angular momentum caused it to spin faster and flatten into a rotating disk. Accretion: Within this disk, microscopic dust grains collided and stuck together, building up into kilometer-sized planetesimals. Planetary Embryos: Over millions of years, gravitational attraction drove these planetesimals into high-velocity collisions. Smaller bodies were shattered, while larger ones swept up remaining debris to form the planets and moons we see today.
