Recently I’ve realized that I have a minor obsession with conversations and decided to start a project where I can participate in, document, and share 30-minute conversations that I have with many different people. This project (like each individual conversation) does not really have an agenda. After recording a few, I’ve noticed that along with the knowledge that a conversation is being recorded, a slightly different energy creeps in (especially in the beginning moments). I know questions pop into my head: Should we avoid topics? Should we try to make it entertaining? In the end, it’s still just a conversation complete with misspeaking, tangents, segues, laughter, changes of pace, and, at times, silences (or the sound of thinking). Feel free to eavesdrop.
