This study introduces the importance of understanding biblical eschatology, which is the study of the “last things”, by explaining that the end times are not something to ignore, but something meant to bring comfort, strengthen faith, and equip believers to teach others while standing firm as they await Christ’s return. It establishes that the “last days” began after Jesus’ death and resurrection, outlines why Christians hold different end-times views based on methods of biblical interpretation and views of Israel and the Church, and surveys key perspectives such as allegorical, spiritualized, and literal interpretation. The study also explains differing understandings of God’s promises to Israel, the nature of Christ’s future kingdom (premillennial, postmillennial, and amillennial views), and emphasizes approaching Scripture as the authoritative, error-free Word of God. Overall, the lesson encourages believers to grow in understanding end-time events and terminology so they can live faithfully, confidently, and prepared in light of God’s unfolding plan.
