The Railway Children by E. Nesbit tells the story of three siblings—Roberta, Peter, and Phyllis—who move to a rural cottage after their father is wrongfully imprisoned. Adjusting to their new life, the children discover a nearby railway and become fascinated with the trains and their workers. They befriend a kind railway porter, help an injured man, and become involved in various adventures, all while secretly hoping for their father's return. The children’s loyalty, courage, and resourcefulness shine as they navigate their challenges, ultimately uncovering the truth about their father's situation. The novel highlights themes of family, friendship, and the innocence of childhood against the backdrop of early 20th-century England. (Summary by Dream Audiobooks)
