Sheikh Abdullah Chaabou was born in Sydney, Australia in 1986. After completing his high school education in Sydney, he set out on a path of seeking sacred knowledge, which led him to the heart of traditional Islamic learning in Damascus, Syria. There, he studied under renowned scholars and was immersed in the classical sciences of Islam. In 2008, he continued his studies in Tripoli, Lebanon, enrolling at the University of Tripoli where he completed his Islamic Studies qualification. His academic journey included rigorous training under scholars from Lebanon, Syria, and Egypt, granting him a well-rounded foundation in the Islamic sciences, including Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, and Aqeedah. Upon his return to Australia in 2015, Sheikh Abdullah Chaabou began actively teaching and contributing to the spiritual and educational development of the Muslim community in Sydney. He currently serves as the Head of Religious Affairs at the United Muslims of Australia (UMA), a prominent Islamic organization involved in community engagement, youth development, and Islamic education. In addition to his leadership role at UMA, Sheikh Abdullah is a lecturer at the Sydney Islamic College, where he continues to teach a range of Islamic subjects. He also delivers regular Khutab (Friday sermons) and public lessons across Sydney, making him a well-recognized figure in the Australian Muslim landscape. Sheikh Abdullah Chaabou is known for his calm, articulate delivery and for offering grounded, accessible insights into the faith. His work reflects a commitment to authentic Islamic knowledge and its application in the modern context, helping Muslims navigate their religious obligations with clarity and confidence.
