About Frames host, Ustadh Ubaydullah Evans Ubaydullah Evans is ALIM’s Scholar-in-Residence and the first African-American graduate of Al-Azhar’s Shari’a program. After converting to Islam in high school, he studied locally and abroad—including IIE, Tarim, and Cairo. He also teaches with Ta’leef Collective and IMAN. At ALIM, he’s a core instructor for the Summer Program, teaching Islamic law, Shama’il, and the Aphorisms of Ibn Ata’illah.
