As the day's work ends and the lamps are lit, Evening Prayer gathers it up in thanksgiving. With the ancient hymn to Christ the joyful light, the psalms and lessons appointed for the evening, the Gospel canticles, and the Church's prayers for the coming night, it is the Prayer Book's Evensong, every day. Join with Christians around the world in praying with the Church, at any time or in any place you may find yourself. Each day's office comes to you complete: no flipping pages, no searching for Scripture readings or calendars, no puzzling over rubrics. The prayers are from The Book of Common Prayer (2019) of the Anglican Church in North America and follow the ancient pattern of daily prayer Christians have kept since the earliest days of the Church. In contemporary language, with the English Standard Version and the Renewed Coverdale Psalter. A new episode every day, with a link to pray along with the full text at dailyoffice2019.com. Read with synthesized (AI) voices, produced by the free Daily Office website and app, so a fresh episode is ready every day of the year.
The Daily Office (dailyoffice2019.com). Scripture from the ESV® and the KJV; see each episode.
