The Koran (Quran) is revered by Muslims as the divine word of God (Allah), revealed to the prophet Muhammad. Comprising 114 chapters (surahs) that are mainly organized by length, this edition, The Meaning of the Glorious Koran, presents a respected English translation by a Muslim Englishman. However, many Muslims, including Pickthall, argue that capturing the essence of the Koran in another language is an impossible task, viewing translations as valuable interpretations rather than exact replicas of the original Arabic text.
