Muhammad Ayyub also spelled Mohammad Ayyub or Muhammed Ayyub was a distinguished Quran reciter from Saudi Arabia. Born in Mecca Saudi Arabia in 1952 he was known for his distinct clear and tranquil recitation style that deeply resonated with listeners. He completed the memorization of the Quran at a young age and later studied at the Islamic University of Madinah where he specialized in Quranic sciences and Tafsir (exegesis). He primarily recited in the Hafs ‘an Asim narration. Digital Quranic archives feature numerous recordings of his complete Quranic recitations and various individual surahs. Sheikh Muhammad Ayyub served as an Imam and prayer leader at various mosques, most notably as an Imam of the Prophet’s Mosque (Masjid an-Nabawi) in Madinah for several years, a prestigious position that greatly increased his renown. He was also involved in teaching Quranic sciences. He passed away in 2016 leaving a significant legacy in the world of Quranic recitation. The English translation is based on the work of Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan and Dr. Taqi-ud-Din Al-Hilali, whose translation is widely recognized and used globally.
